Disabled people must have current driver’s license and application must by certified by a physician. No charge for a four-year permit. Parking is free at meters for up to four hours at municipal lots. Fees are waived at airport for vehicles with specialized equipment.

Metrobus & Metrorail riders using wheelchairs or motorized mobility aids who are not STS certified need to register with MDC Transit to obtain an EASY card for a discount fare. Gates open only when activated with an EASY card. Apply at the Transit Service Center on the second level of the Gov’t Center Metrorail station. Medicare recipients also qualify for reduced fare.
